Before the Chador
by James Dunn

Starting in the early twentieth century and continuing through the 1979 revolution, Before the Chador tells the remarkable story of a Jewish Iranian family, using hundreds of the family’s photographs and first-person interviews. The story that unfolds challenges assumptions, celebrates the strong bonds of family, and reveals an intimate and harrowing tale of loving family members pitted against social and political changes that did not take individual happiness into consideration.
